Liverpool 4-4 Arsenal

Last night, Liverpool met ARSENAL at Anfield.

Last night, ARSHAVIN put four goals past Reina.

Last night, it ended in a draw.

I suspect there was a conspiracy last night.

Liverpool was undefeated at home so far this season. ARSENAL had another injury rush where everyone who can get injured got injured. ARSENAL has been unbeaten for 18 Premiership games thus far but just crashed out of the FA Cup against Chelsea. On paper, ARSENAL was going to get ripped apart and torn to shreds. In reality, Liverpool dominated but it ended in a draw. Thrice, ARSENAL led, Thrice Liverpool equalised. In the end, we did Manchester a favour.

There has been rumours flying that WENGER will throw the match last night to prevent Manchester from getting the title. At times, that seemed true. If anyone can remember the jiggle he did when we scored against Villarreal, it was missing last night. He didnt seem as happy for us to score. The formation was terrible. FABREGAS played the role of supporting striker when he plays best deep in the midfield, threading passes and controlling the tempo of the game. ARSHAVIN played on the left while his natural role was that of a supporting striker. NASRI was playing on the right when his natural role was on the left. SILVESTRE had a terrible game last night. SILVESTRE,with his Manchester look, kept making mistakes and conceeding free kicks. He loved passing back to FABIANSKI and seemed like he was just waiting for FABIANSKI to make a mistake. Kudos to FABIANSKI though, he had a good game. He managed to put the FA Cup nightmare behind him and kept us in the game when we could have been 8 or 9 goals down. SONG had a good game too. WENGER should have played ARSHAVIN as supporting striker, FABREGAS back at his natural midfield role, NASRI on the left, started WALCOTT on the right, benched SILVESTRE, got SONG to partner TOURE in the centre of defence, started EBOUE instead of SAGNA who seemed to be still suffering from his virus. IF WENGER did all that, we could have won the game. The one of the few times where BENDTNER had excellent finishing, his goal was wrongly ruled out for offside. Even the linesman is part of the conspiracy. Well, this IS football.

Now for something positive. It has been quite a while since an ARSENAL player scored four times against Liverpool at Anfield. Please do not mention Baptista. That was a Carling Cup game which nobody took seriously. Last night was a Premiership game which had quite a bit on the line. ARSHAVIN is class. When he first started playing for ARSENAL, he lacked match fitness. He was out of match practice for quite a while. I felt that the last goal he scored in injury time last night was his best of the lot. He was on pace with a fresh WALCOTT,who just came on not too long ago. He matched stride for stride to receive the pass which led to his final goal. At that point of time, he had already been playing for 90 minutes and was still capable of such speed! Now, he's still asking for time to settle in. I can't imagine how he would be like when he's fully settled in. Four chances last night led to four goals, two with his left feet and two with his right. What more can a fan ask for? The future looks not so bleak after all.
The team celebrating a goal with ARSHAVIN
ARSHAVIN scores and Reina is just stunned.
ARSHAVIN celebrates his hat-trick.
I always felt that his way of celebrating goals was quite taunting. After his performance last night, I would love seeing him do this many many times every match. With performances like that, he jolly well can celebrate any way he wants to!
